Love Jewels

With the racing season in full swing, it’s quite timely that I am writing a post about Love Jewels an on-line boutique owned by my beautiful friend and business woman, Julie Caulfield.

Julie Caulfield, Make-Up Artist and Owner of Love Jewels

In the past few years, Julie’s career as a Professional Make-Up Artist for TV & Film has gone from strength to strength and seen her work with some of Ireland’s biggest brands and productions, but her newest venture Love-Jewels, an on-line boutique housing luxurious and custom occasion wear, has seen her gain a whole new acclaim within the fashion and beauty industry.

Although still in its infancy, the label has already graced the pages of fashion bible Elle as well as featuring in Xposé and most recently Ireland AM and is fast becoming a firm favourite amongst Irish stylists and celebrities alike.

What makes Love Jewels Couture so unique is the fact that it has been born from a lifelong love of travel, exploration and fashion all rolled into one.

In her late teens,Julie began accompanying her Mum, a silk importer, on buying trips to Asia and further afield. These travels certainly helped shape Julie’s appreciation for quality materials and textures but more importantly, ignited a passion for the eclectic mix of bright and beautiful colours and prints, which have become synonymous with the Love Jewels range.

From stylish silk midi skirts to chic maxi dresses and embellished tops and belts, Love Jewels is the ultimate in sophisticated occasion wear with something for everyone but of course I’d be lying if I didn’t say I have my little favourites…..

I cannot recommend the (one size fits all) Stella Skirts enough as they are made with luxurious silk taffeta and are so full and heavy. This is so important, as I myself have had the unfortunate experience of buying a similar style skirt on-line, only to find when it arrived, that I needed to dash out and buy an underskirt to get the full prom effect.
Wearing the Stella Skirt in Magenta at the Killarney Races

I wore the Stella Skirt in Magenta to the Killarney Races a couple of weeks ago and simply adored it. The label offers these skirts in a whole host of colours so they are perfect when it comes to pairing up with that all important headpiece for a race meeting or wedding – and did I mention they also do custom skirts?!

I themed with a Silver Leaf Belt (also from the range), which literally turned out to be my favourite accessory whilst on holidays earlier this Summer, as it gives even the simplest of maxi dresses an elegant lift.

Wearing the Dovetail Skirt in Wine to Kerry Fashion Week

I am also a huge fan of the Dovetail Skirt which I wore back in March for the Kerry Fashion Week Awards. What I like most about all of these skirts is the ease in which they can be styled. The simplicity of the fit combined with the striking impact of the colours offered, make it the ultimate investment piece as it can be worn again and again.

I can’t wait to style this one for the upcoming Autumn Season and create a whole new look.
