Blonde Hair,Do Care: Part 1

Okay so I love the phrase ‘Blonde Hair Don’t Care’ as much as the next but as any blonde will know, if you want coloured blonde hair that doesn’t resemble a haystack, you genuinely need to care.

In the same vein as, ‘you are what you eat’, what you feed your hair really shows and particularly with blonde hair, there really is nowhere to hide. If I use a shop bought product rather than salon for even a week, I usually want to walk around with a bag over my head. It’s the exact same as over indulging in that second slice of chocolate cake, it’s rarely worth it.

Even whilst using salon products, which I do 80% of the time, I think it’s important to chop and change your haircare products every few months. I find my hair gets used to certain products after a while and those amazing effects you experienced the first few times in usage can slow considerably – yip ladies, relationships aren’t the only thing that run the risk of complacency unfortunately.

On a break from my favourite range (which is usually Redken All Soft range), I recently started using the K-PAK Shampoo and Conditioner in gold from Joico and I was pleasantly surprised with the results. I also have to say they smell absolutely divine which is always an added bonus.

The Shampoo is restructuring and keratin enriched which means it heals your hair from the inside out. I think this is something which is imperative after the process of bleaching your hair. I always feel like my hair is at its worst straight after colouring so a shampoo like this is great to kick start that repairing process straight away.

The matching Conditioner does the same as the Shampoo. After combing through in the shower and rinsing, I fell instantly in love with it as could feel the softness returning to my hair. I find when I like a range, I usually end up drinking the treatment and too often use it to overcompensate for the conditioner but with this range it was different as I had probably used up half the bottle of the conditioner before I even touched the treatment, and yes the treatment is even more divine.

Since using I can really see the difference in my hair – its shine has been restored, it feels more manageable, falls so much softer around my face and I just can’t stop touching it !

I love when my hair is happy and healthy and often find it takes a couple of weeks after colouring to fully resort this feeling. This only happens with the right product and this range is definitely worth its weight in gold…. oh see what I did there?!

The last product in the range is a dry oil which I use as a finishing product and also adore. I just spray on after I dry my hair to give it an extra shine and lock in moisture for the day.

Stay tuned for next time when I talk about getting the right colour for your Blonde but in the meantime don’t just take my word for it, go Gold!
