Christmas Party Time

I cannot believe that Christmas time is almost upon us! I just love this time of the year and I have to confess that one of my favourite things about it, is planning all my party looks on the lead up to the big day. With the festive season, there are so just so many nights out, both organised and spontaneous so I always like to have a number of outfits all planned, because lets face it, there’s nothing worse than stressing and worrying about what to wear, (especially when your other half is always rushing you out the door)! For this and lots more reasons, I always try to have at least 5 ready to go.

This is one of the first party looks I styled for this year in one of my favourite party venues, the Kube in Killarney and features one of the biggest on trend colours for the season – forest green. My sateen dress from New Look was an absolutely steal at €14.99 but I wanted to give it a bit of a twist so paired it with a leather buckle choker and this amazing rock & roll up style by Sean Taaffes in Killarney for a bit of attitude. I think Christmas is one of the best times to experiment with different looks that you wouldn’t normally go for…..it’s the party season so anything goes and the more drama, the better. After searching through pinterest – my go-to for hair inspiration – I came across my inspo for this look. I showed it to my stylist the following day and she absolutely nailed it.

What Christmas party look is complete without a glamorous and ridiculously humongous furry coat ? ! None in my books. My furry friend is from Zara and although I do feel like I belong on the set of Monsters Inc. whenever I wear it, I really do adore it and can’t wait to wear it with a pair of black leather look leggings and boots for daywear also.

I’m still in my no tanning zone as you can see and whilst I plan to do the same all over Christmas, I do think you need to choose your colours wisely. Strong colours are best and contrast well against pale skin but you need to avoid all the neutrals like beige and pastels, as these tend to just make you look washed out.

My heels and clutch are from Penny’s – I am finding the best treasures in there the past few weeks but must admit, it’s mainly when I go to the Jervis Street Store- it is just amazing !

Hope everyone’s now inspired to get the party up-style, buy the tiny dress, find a furry friend and go out and have some fun ! Happy outfit planning – I really hope that it’s not just me that does this ?!
